Kongi Dark (PNG)
Origin: What we use as Kongi Dark is not strictly from Kongi, we choose whatever the best village, or small crop holder coffee is available at the time, the regions are Mt Hagen or Goroka, Papua New Guinea. All Kongi is generally organic, however it is not recognised due to logistical and financial restraints within villages and farmers.
Tasting notes: similar tasting notes as there is to the Kongi Gold, however the Dark obviously has a different roasting profile. It is this profile that give the Kongi Dark its difference in flavour. Burnt toast/toffee comes to mind, the darker roast also helps bring out the citrus style acidity that is so prevalent in Kongi based beans.
